CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Icewarp Mail Server 10.1.3/10.2.0 on Windows (Mail Server Software). Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file webmail/basic/index.html of the component Webmail Interface. The manipulation of the argument _c with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

IceWarp Webclient before 10.2.1 has a directory traversal vulnerability. This can result in loss of confidential data of IceWarp Mailserver and the operating system. Input passed via a certain parameter (_c to basic/index.html) is not properly sanitised and can therefore be exploited to browse the partition where IceWarp is installed (or the whole system) and read arbitrary files.

The bug was discovered 11/19/2010. The weakness was shared 12/06/2010 by Ron Ott, Michael Schneider and Thomas Wittmann as Advisory 2010120601 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at gosecurity.ch. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-5334 since 10/11/2019. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1006 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

A public exploit has been developed by Ron Ott/Michael Schneider/Thomas Wittmann and been published immediately after the advisory. The exploit is available at gosecurity.ch. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 4 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:webmail/basic/index.html it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.

Upgrading to version 10.2.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
