A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Symantec Norton AntiVirus up to 11.0.9 (Anti-Malware Software). This issue affects an unknown code block of the component RAR Archive Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. The bug was discovered 04/27/2005. The weakness was presented 04/28/2005 by André Jerleke (Phiberz) (Website). The advisory is shared at securityresponse.symantec.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-1346 since 04/28/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1499 for this issue.
