Windows NT Task Scheduler installed with Internet Explorer 5 allows a user to gain privileges by modifying the job after it has been scheduled.
The issue has been introduced in 06/02/1998. The weakness was shared 11/29/1999 by Arne Vidstrom with Microsoft as MS99-051 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-1999-0839. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
