A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Samba up to 4.10.16/4.11.10/4.12.3 (File Transfer Software). This affects an unknown code of the component AD LDAP Server. A NULL pointer dereference, or possible use-after-free flaw was found in Samba AD LDAP server in versions before 4.10.17, before 4.11.11 and before 4.12.4. Although some versions of Samba shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux do not support Samba in AD mode, the affected code is shipped with the libldb package. This flaw allows an authenticated user to possibly trigger a use-after-free or NULL pointer dereference. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.
The weakness was disclosed 07/07/2020 as Bug 1849489 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2020-10730 since 03/20/2020. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. A authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.

Upgrading to version 4.10.17, 4.11.11 or 4.12.4 eliminates this vulnerability.
