A vulnerability was found in SGI IRIX 6.2/6.3 (Operating System). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file dmplay. Buffer overflow in dmplay in IRIX 6.2 and 6.3 allows local users to gain root privileges via a long command line option.
The issue has been introduced in 03/01/1996. The weakness was presented 08/02/2000 by Last Stage (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com.
