A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in HP HP-UX 10.00/10.10/10.20/10.30/11.00 (Operating System). Affected is the function glob of the component FTP Server. The manipulation of the argument STAT with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. Buffer overflow in FTP server in HPUX 11 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands by creating a long pathname and calling the STAT command, which uses glob to generate long strings.
