A vulnerability has been found in Microsoft ISA Server 2000 (Firewall Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component H.323 Handler. Memory leak in H.323 Gatekeeper Service in Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource exhaustion) via a large amount of malformed H.323 data.
The weakness was shared 09/20/2001 with Microsoft as MS01-045 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2001-0546. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
