Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in RobTex Viking Server up to 1.0.7. This affects an unknown part of the component Web Server. The manipulation with the input value /%2e%2e/%2e%2e leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in RobTex Viking Web server before 1.07-381 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a hexadecimal encoded dot-dot attack (eg. http://www.server.com/%2e%2e/%2e%2e) in an HTTP URL request.
