A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Apache Tomcat 3.2.1 (Application Server Software). This issue affects an unknown code block of the component JSP Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. A cross-site scripting vulnerability in Apache Tomcat 3.2.1 allows a malicious webmaster to embed Javascript in a request for a .JSP file, which causes the Javascript to be inserted into an error message.
