A vulnerability was found in GNU Enscript 1.6.1. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Temp File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a symlink vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-61. The product, when opening a file or directory, does not sufficiently account for when the file is a symbolic link that resolves to a target outside of the intended control sphere. GNU Enscript 1.6.1 and earlier allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files of the Enscript user via a symlink attack on temporary files.
