A vulnerability was found in RealNetworks RealPlayer 7.0/8.0 (Multimedia Player Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code of the component Header Length Handler. Buffer overflow in Real Networks RealPlayer 8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a header length value that exceeds the actual length of the header.
The weakness was presented 05/16/2002 by Morgan (Website). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-0207. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
