A vulnerability has been found in Francisco Burzi PHP-Nuke up to 5.3.1 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument file with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-269. index.php in Francisco Burzi PHP-Nuke 5.3.1 and earlier, and possibly other versions before 5.5, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code by specifying a URL to the malicious code in the file parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 05/16/2002 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-0206. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
