A vulnerability was found in Snort 2.4.0/2.4.1/2.4.2. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the component Back Orifice Pre-Processor. Stack-based buffer overflow in the Back Orifice (BO) preprocessor for Snort before 2.4.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted UDP packet.
The bug was discovered 10/18/2005. The weakness was published 10/18/2005 by Neel Mehta with ISS X-Force (Website). The advisory is shared at snort.org.
