Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0 does not properly verify the domain of a frame within a browser window, which allows remote attackers to read client files or invoke executable objects via the Object tag, aka "Cross Domain Verification in Object Tag."
The issue has been introduced in 07/08/2000. The weakness was released 09/24/2002 by Thor Larholm as MS02-047 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). It is possible to read the advisory at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2002-0723. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely.
