Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in NewAtlanta ServletExec ISAPI 4.1. This affects an unknown functionality of the file com.newatlanta.servletexec.jsp10servlet of the component URL Encoding Handler. The manipulation with the input value ..%5c leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in NewAtlanta ServletExec ISAPI 4.1 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a URL-encoded request to com.newatlanta.servletexec.JSP10Servlet containing "..%5c" (modified dot-dot) sequences.
