Cisco IP Phone (VoIP) 7920 1.0(8) contains certain hard-coded ("fixed") public and private SNMP community strings that cannot be changed, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information.

The weakness was disclosed 11/17/2005 by Shawn Merdinger with Cisco (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at cisco.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-3803 since 11/24/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
