A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer up to 6 (Web Browser). It has been declared as critical. Internet Explorer 6 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 allows remote attackers to spoof the URL in the status bar via the title in an image in a link to a trusted site within a form to the malicious site.
The weakness was released 11/16/2005 by Claudio "Sverx" (Website). The advisory is available at secunia.com. The vendor was not involved in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-4679 since 01/31/2006. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
