A vulnerability was found in Apple Safari up to 1.2.3 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the component HTML Tag Handler. Apple Safari 1.0 through 1.2.3 allows remote attackers to spoof the URL displayed in the status bar via TABLE tags.
The weakness was disclosed 11/01/2004 by Gilbert Verdian as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-1121 since 12/01/2004. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
