Cross-Frame scripting vulnerability in the WebBrowser control as used in Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code, read arbitrary files, or conduct other unauthorized activities via script that accesses the Document property, which bypasses <frame> and <iframe> domain restrictions.

The issue has been introduced in 07/08/2000. The weakness was presented 10/28/2002 by GreyMagic (Website). The advisory is shared for download at security.greymagic.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-1217. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
