Details
A vulnerability was found in Google Tensorflow up to 2.5.2/2.6.2/2.7.0 (Artificial Intelligence Software). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function OpLevelCostEstimator::CalculateOutputSize. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer overflow vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-190. The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound, when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This can introduce other weaknesses when the calculation is used for resource management or execution control. As an impact it is known to affect availability.
The weakness was disclosed 02/05/2022 as GHSA-wm93-f238-7v37. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2022-23576 since 01/19/2022. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
Upgrading to version 2.5.3, 2.6.3, 2.7.1 or 2.8.0 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch b9bd6cfd1c50e6807846af9a86f9b83cafc9c8ae is able to eliminate this problem.
