fetchmail before 6.3.1 and before 6.2.5.5, when configured for multidrop mode, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) by sending messages without headers from upstream mail servers.

The bug was discovered 12/19/2005. The weakness was published 12/20/2005 by Daniel Drake and Sunil Shetye (Website). The advisory is available at fetchmail.berlios.de. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-4348 since 12/19/2005. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
