Heap-based buffer overflow in Research in Motion (RIM) BlackBerry Attachment Service allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (hang) via an e-mail attachment with a crafted TIFF file.
The weakness was presented 12/30/2005 by Felix Lindner (FX) with Phenoelit (Website). The advisory is available at blackberry.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-2341 since 07/21/2005. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
