BestCrypt BCWipe 1.0.7 and 2.0 through 2.35.1 does not clear Windows alternate data streams that are attached to files on NTFS file systems, which allows attackers to recover sensitive information that was supposed to be deleted.
The weakness was presented 12/31/2002 by Kurt Seifried (Website). The advisory is shared for download at bcwipe.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-2066 since 07/14/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
