BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1 through SP3 stores the password for the RDBMS Authentication provider in cleartext in the config.xml file, which allows attackers to gain privileges.
The weakness was released 01/24/2006 by vlet with BEA Systems (Website). The advisory is shared at dev2dev.bea.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2006-0423 since 01/25/2006. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
