BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1 through SP3 stores the password for the RDBMS Authentication provider in cleartext in the config.xml file, which allows attackers to gain privileges.

The weakness was disclosed 01/24/2006 with EPAM Systems (Website). The advisory is available at dev2dev.bea.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-0423 since 01/25/2006. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
