A vulnerability was found in Aestiva HTML OS 2.4. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component Error Message Handler. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Aestiva HTML/OS allows remote attackers to insert arbitrary HTML or script by inserting the script after a trailing / character, which inserts the script into the resulting error message.

The bug was discovered 09/03/2002. The weakness was released 04/02/2003 as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2002-1494. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
