A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Biztalk Server 2002. It has been classified as critical. Affected is some unknown processing in the library BizTalkHTTPReceive.dll of the component ISAPI. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Buffer overflow in the HTTP receiver function (BizTalkHTTPReceive.dll ISAPI) of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a certain request to the HTTP receiver.
The weakness was presented 05/12/2003 by Cesar Cerrudo as MS03-016 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2003-0117 since 02/26/2003. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
