A vulnerability has been found in Sambar Server 5.0/5.1/5.2/5.3/6.0 (File Transfer Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function in the library isapi/testisa.dll. The manipulation of the argument price with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Sambar Server before 6.0 beta 6 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the query string to (1) isapi/testisa.dll, (2) testcgi.exe, (3) environ.pl, (4) the query parameter to samples/search.dll, (5) the price parameter to mortgage.pl, (6) the query string in dumpenv.pl, (7) the query string to dumpenv.pl, and (8) the E-Mail field of the guestbook script (book.pl).
The bug was discovered 02/25/2003. The weakness was disclosed 09/25/2003 by David Endler (3apa3a) (Website). The advisory is shared at sambar.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2003-1285 since 11/22/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and also a exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
