A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Expinion.net News Manager Lite 2.5. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the file more.asp of the component Manager. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in News Manager Lite 2.5 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL code via the (1) ID parameter to more.asp, (2) ID parameter to category_news.asp, or (3) filter parameter to news_sort.asp.
The weakness was presented 03/22/2004 by Manuel Lopez (Website). The advisory is shared at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-1846 since 05/04/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:more.asp it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
