A vulnerability has been found in Moodle 1.1.1/1.2/1.2.1 (Learning Management Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file help.php. The manipulation of the argument text with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in help.php in Moodle before 1.3 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML and web script via the text parameter.
The bug was discovered 04/30/2004. The weakness was disclosed 04/30/2004 by Bartek Nowotarski (Website). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-1978 since 05/04/2005. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
