A vulnerability has been found in Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.7 (Supply Chain Management Software) and classified as problematic. The TNS Listener in Oracle 10g allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (listener crash) via a malformed service_register_NSGR request containing a value that is used as an invalid offset for a pointer that references incorrect memory.

The bug was discovered 12/25/2004. The weakness was published 08/04/2004 by Esteban Martinez Fayo (Alexander) (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-1369 since 01/07/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
