A vulnerability was found in lldpd up to 0.7.x. It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function lldp_decode of the file daemon/protocols/lldp.c. The product copies an input buffer to an output buffer without verifying that the size of the input buffer is less than the size of the output buffer, leading to a buffer overflow. Buffer overflow in the lldp_decode function in daemon/protocols/lldp.c in lldpd before 0.8.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via vectors involving large management addresses and TLV boundaries.
