A vulnerability was found in Jelsoft vBulletin 3.0.0/3.0.0 Can4 (Forum Software). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file showthread.php. The manipulation of the argument order with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Jelsoft vBulletin 2.0 beta 3 through 3.0 can4 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) page parameter to showthread.php or (2) order parameter to forumdisplay.php.
The weakness was disclosed 03/15/2004 by JeiAr with Gulftech (Website). The advisory is available at secunia.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-1823 since 05/04/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
