A vulnerability has been found in Quadcomm Q-Shop 2.0/2.1/2.5/2.5 Beta and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the file imagezoom.asp. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in (1) imagezoom.asp or (2) recommend.asp in Q-Shop allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary script and steal the user session ID via Javascript in a URL.
The bug was discovered 01/26/2004. The weakness was published 01/26/2004 by Nick Gudov with S-Quadra (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-2109 since 05/27/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
By approaching the search of inurl:imagezoom.asp it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12004 (QuadComm Q-Shop Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities).
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
