A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Quadcomm Q-Shop (version unknown). This affects an unknown function of the file recommend.asp. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in (1) imagezoom.asp or (2) recommend.asp in Q-Shop allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary script and steal the user session ID via Javascript in a URL.
The bug was discovered 01/26/2004. The weakness was released 01/26/2004 by Nick Gudov with S-Quadra (Website). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2004-2109. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
