BugPort before 1.099 stores its configuration file (conf/config.conf) under the web document root with a file extension that is not normally parsed by web servers, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information.

The weakness was presented 12/31/2004 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-2353 since 08/16/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
