Details
A vulnerability was found in AXIS 2110 Network Camera up to 2.40 (Network Camera Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file editcgi.cgi. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in Axis Network Camera 2.40 and earlier, and Video Server 3.12 and earlier, allows remote attackers to bypass authentication via a .. (dot dot) in an HTTP POST request to ServerManager.srv, then use these privileges to conduct other activities, such as modifying files using editcgi.cgi.
