A vulnerability was found in Jamie Cameron Webmin 1.2.30/1.2.40/1.2.50/1.2.60/1.2.70 (Software Management Software). It has been declared as problematic. Directory traversal vulnerability in Webmin before 1.280, when run on Windows, allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via \ (backslash) characters in the URL to certain directories under the web root, such as the image directory.
The bug was discovered 06/04/2006. The weakness was presented 06/23/2006 by Keigo Yamazaki with Little eArth Corporation as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-3274 since 06/28/2006. The attack can be initiated remotely.
