A vulnerability was found in Pegasi Web Server 0.2.2 (Web Server) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown part. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Pegasi Web Server (PWS) 0.2.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the URI, directly after the initial / (slash).
The weakness was published 03/11/2004 by Donato Ferrante (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-2618 since 12/04/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
