A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS and iPadOS up to 16.5.1 (Smartphone Operating System) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the component libxpc. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
