The CheckGroup function in openSkat VTMF before 2.1 generates public key pairs in which the "p" variable might not be prime, which allows remote attackers to determine the private key and decrypt messages.

The weakness was presented 11/10/2004 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-2721 since 10/06/2007. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
