A vulnerability was found in Netgear FVS318 2.4 (Router Operating System). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Log Viewer. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the log viewer in NETGEAR FVS318 running firmware 2.4, and possibly other versions, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a blocked URL phrase.

The bug was discovered 01/14/2005. The weakness was presented 01/17/2005 by Paul Kurczaba (Website). The advisory is shared for download at lists.grok.org.uk. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-0291 since 02/10/2005. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
