Thunderbird 0.6 through 0.9 and Mozilla 1.7 through 1.7.3 does not obey the network.cookie.disableCookieForMailNews preference, which could allow remote attackers bypass the user s intended privacy and security policy by using cookies in e-mail messages.

The bug was discovered 01/31/2005. The weakness was disclosed 02/15/2005 by Jesse Ruderman as Bug 268107 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-0149 since 01/25/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy.
