A vulnerability has been found in Sun Solaris Answerbook2 up to 1.4.4 (Operating System) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function Search. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. The bug was discovered 03/07/2005. The weakness was presented 03/07/2005 by THOMAS LIAM ROMANIS (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at sunsolve.sun.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-0548 since 02/25/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
