A vulnerability was found in Sun Solaris AnswerBook2 up to 1.4.4 (Operating System). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function Files". The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Solaris AnswerBook2 Documentation 1.4.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the "View Log Files" function.
The bug was discovered 03/07/2005. The weakness was published 05/02/2005 by THOMAS LIAM ROMANIS (Website). The advisory is shared at sunsolve.sun.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-0549 since 02/25/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
