Details
A vulnerability was found in Adobe Commerce up to 2.4.4-p5/2.4.5-p4/2.4.6-p2/2.4.7-beta. It has been classified as critical. This affects some unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Adobe Commerce versions 2.4.7-beta1 (and earlier), 2.4.6-p2 (and earlier), 2.4.5-p4 (and earlier) and 2.4.4-p5 (and earlier) are affected by an Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection') vulnerability that could lead in arbitrary code execution by an admin-privilege authenticated attacker. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction and attack complexity is high as it requires knowledge of tooling beyond just using the UI.
The weakness was disclosed 10/13/2023 as apsb23-50. The advisory is shared at helpx.adobe.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2023-38249 since 07/13/2023.
