Details
A vulnerability was found in SAP Internet Graphics Service up to 7.00. It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown code of the component HTTP Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a heap-based overflow vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-122. A heap overflow condition is a buffer overflow, where the buffer that can be overwritten is allocated in the heap portion of memory, generally meaning that the buffer was allocated using a routine such as malloc(). This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Heap-based buffer overflow in SAP Internet Graphics Service (IGS) 6.40 and earlier, and 7.00 and earlier, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or execute arbitrary code via an HTTP request with an ADM:GETLOGFILE command and a long portwatcher argument, which triggers the overflow during error message construction when the _snprintf function returns a negative value that is used in a memcpy operation.
