A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in PHP Arena paFileDB 1.1.3/2.1.1/3.0/3.0 Beta 3.1 (Programming Language Software). Affected is some unknown processing of the file viewall.php. The manipulation of the argument start with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in (1) viewall.php and (2) category.php for paFileDB 3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the start parameter to pafiledb.php.
The bug was discovered 03/12/2005. The weakness was presented 05/02/2005 by sp3x (Website). The advisory is available at xforce.iss.net.
