A vulnerability was found in Hola CMS 1.4.9-1 (Content Management System). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code of the file holadb/votes. The manipulation of the argument vote_filename with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in HolaCMS 1.4.9-1 allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary files via a "holaDB/votes" followed by a .. (dot dot) in the vote_filename parameter, which bypasses the check by HolaCMS to ensure that the file is in the holaDB/votes directory.
