A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in eGroupware 1.0/1.0.1/1.0.3/1.0.6 (Groupware Software). This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument category_id with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in eGroupware before 1.0.0.007 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) ab_id, (2) page, (3) type, or (4) lang parameter to index.php or (5) category_id parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 04/15/2005 by James Bercegay with Gulftech (Website). The advisory is available at gulftech.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-1202 since 04/21/2005. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
